At Brainlink International, a five-person IT consulting firm in Long Island City, Queens, with revenue of $750,000 in 2013, founder and CEO Raj Goel said the company has invested in new software to reduce billing expenses while consolidating the number of outside vendors it uses. Brainlink’s hiring process, which has become a lot more rigorous in recent years, now requires each candidate to take a two-hour skills assessment test. “
